Nintendo denies data breach by Crimson Collective

Nintendo has denied claims of a data breach after a hacker group calling itself Crimson Collective alleged it had gained access to the company’s internal systems. Earlier this week, the group posted what appeared to be screenshots of internal Nintendo directories on social media and dark web channels, claiming to have stolen confidential files.

In a statement to the Sankei Shimbun on October 15, Nintendo stated that there is no evidence of any personal data leak or compromise of development and business information. The company acknowledged that several externally hosted web servers were briefly altered but emphasized that its internal infrastructure remains secure.

Cybersecurity analysts have noted that Crimson Collective recently made similar claims against Red Hat, raising doubts about the group’s credibility. As of now, no stolen Nintendo data has surfaced online, and the company says it continues to monitor the situation closely to ensure user safety.
